Character focused RPG written by Toby Fox (he's also one of the best videogame music composers)

Premise: Prophecy says at the end of the world 3 heroes will appear at the world's edge. A human, a monster and the prince from the dark. Only they can save the world from destruction. Meanwhile in Hometown human called Kris is experiencing their first day at school. In school they get to know a monster girl Susie. When they were sent to fetch chalk, they accidentaly find and fall into a dark world (in the school) and they meet Ralsei. Ralsei tells them that THEY are the heroes from the prophecy. Ralsei is convinced the one possible good ending by the prophecy is to be kind and don't fight with enemies. They go on a many various adventures. But is the prophecy truly definitive or it can change by your choices? What exactly is a dark world and who is making them? And most importanly what happen when YOU will not follow the rules? (theres more way to play this game, you can play it as a pacifist or as a total evil guy >:))

I cannot even describe how much i love Deltarune. And also i love listening to video essays and theories (some of them are so stupid tho) while i draw. It's genuinely so fun! I discovered Deltarune when me and my friend were in a cafe and we chatted about Omori and other indie games and idk why my friend was like: ''Hey, i think Deltarune chapter 1 and 2 are for free on Steam....'' and when i got home i immediately downloaded it and after i finished ch1 and ch2 i decided to buy the whole game. IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT. I simply fell in love. My fav character is Kris and Susie and Pink and of course GREEN PIRATE GASTER... nah im just kidding.

My honest ch5 opinion: In June 24th Deltarune chapter 5 came out and i have mixed feelings about it. Some parts were SO FREAKING ANNOYING and fighting 3 times with the same enemy drived me crazy as well. On the other hand some new pixel sprites and backrounds were incredibly stunning and beautiful!!! And the normal route ending made me sad. And weird route.... absolutely terrifying. Maybe i expected more lore and it's okay i wasn't fully satisfied. In ch5 also a huge amout of new characters were introduced and i understand it must be difficult. But i believe according Toby Fox's newsletter, chapter 6 will get more story and one thing will be clarified O_O (i'm so scared).

OMORI

Indie RPG game made by OMOCAT

Premise: You wake up in a strange place called Whitespace. Theres not many things here - a laptop, cat, tissue box, your diary, black lightbulb and a strange door. You managed to open it and in another room 3 friends of yours are here - Aubrey, Hero and Kel. You go with them to meet Basil and Mari at the playground. Basil loves to take a photos and he show everyone his photoalbum. Then Basil invite everyone to go to his house. His house is tiny and cozy and full of flowers. But suddenly one unknown photo fell on the floor and Basil wanishes in a black SOMETHING.... You need to find him and figure out what accualy happened. It's a psychological game about mental health, escapism, coping, friendship and forgiveness.

Omori is also one of my most favourite games. To be honest Omori kinda litteraly changed my life forever. I love dark psychological indie games lol (maybe i am a little 'i can't fix her' girl). Also includes absolutely moving soundtrack. My fav character is Aubrey cuz i love her design and personality. Omori helped me to realise things what we're also happenig in my life i hadn't been paying attention to. It's the type of a game when the player will feel all kinds of emotions. I laughed, i smiled, i was scared, i was sad, i cried... well you should definitely try it!!!

UNDERTALE

Older indie RPG game made by Toby Fox

Premise: Before this story began, on the planet earth a war broke out between humans and monsters. Monsters lost and as a punishment humans inprisoned them into the undeground. But one day a small kid fall down to the abyss by mistake and find itself inside the underground where all the monsters lives. They must to find a way back to the surface without getting killed by the beasts. But are all the monsters really evil? You can alos play this game and a pacifist (you won't kill anyone) or neutral (you kill only a few monsters) or genocide (you already know what tha means)

Before Deltarune Toby Fox made Undertale. Last year (2025) Undertale celebrated it's 10th birthday! I still do think Undertale is still worth playing thanks to it's universal themes and perfectly made ending(s). I bought the game on Steam sale (it cost like one dolar lol) and i finished the game in february 2026.

Persona games are incredible too. It's visuals and music are something that helped me through hard times and it gives me motivation every single day. P3 and P4 contains songs performed by Lotus Juice and other singers. Yes, there are literally vocal songs. In a video game. It's so cool, right?

DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB (DDLC)

Indie visual novel made by Team Salvato (Dan Salvato)

premise: You find yourself going to school but suddenly you hear Sayori, your childhood friend who lives nearby, running towards you. She almost overslept again. Thankfully she catched on you today. You went to school together but it seems she is worrying about you beacuse you haven't joined any school club this year. You had to promise her to choose one asap. After the end of the classes you meet Sayori again. She will offer you to join literature club she attends. Firstly you refuse, but after Sayori tells you one club member will bring cupcakes you are willing to give it a try. So you meet others members- Monika, Yuri and Natsuki. What will happen next will be the most gut wretching, mind blowing and terrifying thing ever... definitely nothing for the squeamish.

This game is so well done! It analyzes and alerts on the issue of mental illness. Also greatly hides the significant signs of bad mental state in the plain sight (at least for me at my first play). And it's not only about mental condition, the characters behaviour and psychology are incredibly well written to the point they feel like a normal humans. Moreover the game broke laws of visual games it's time and games in general and inspired many other. More than once i had to pause it and think what videogames truly mean for me. Oh wait, the game is almost 10 years old too waaatt.It taughed me to take care of myself and to don't underestimate others mental health problems. My favourite characters are Yuri and Sayori.:P The game is FOR FREE on steam and even on mobile phones now by the way!
